Over the last month or so I've slowly been making these handmade portfolios with huge help from Cat Glennon over at Booklyn. I finally finished up the slipcases over the weekend. The drawings and my name on the cover were done by printing on to the fabric first, using a letterpress, then glued down after the box and binder were built. I've also got a bunch of new work updated on the editorial page thanks to Alec Longstreth's web assistance. Have you seen Alec's work?

these are awesome Doug! i wish i could hold one and look at how it was made. they are really inspiring. sure to bring loads of work. do they unfold like a book or are they individual cards?
Thanks Jen! I know it's still kind of hard to tell in the photo how they work. It's a binder that slips into a case about 11" x 12". All you see from the outside is the drawing on the front and back of the case, the binder with my name on it slips out easy and you can flip through it. I made three to take around. I hope your book is going well.
These are Made for the purpose of meeting with AD's? If so it makes me feel better about pounding the pavement trying to get meetings..
and they Look great as well.
Kenny, yes I made these to take around next year for drop-offs and hopefully meetings. Also just wanted a nicer way to keep everything together for myself. Good luck with your meetings, get in touch if you are in NY.

Had the pleasure of seeing these in person and they are beautiful. Excellently crafted and very impressive. Doug even found plastic covers perfectly sized to protect these while they sit on the drop off desk.
Appreciate you having me over and giving me feedback and sharing these with me.
