In December I'll be exhibiting my new self-published book of drawings,"SPREE", as well as a series of silkscreen prints from the book at New York University's Deutsches Haus. The opening is Dec. 1st from 6 - 8 p.m. SPREE is a 300 page collection of drawings I made during the three months I spent in Berlin, Germany in the summer of 2006, a free-flow of images that captures the hi's, low's and in-betweens of my experience there. Click here to see some more images from this book. From 2000 to 2002 I studied painting and printmaking on a Fulbright scholarship at the University of the Arts (UdK) in Berlin. The summer of 2006 was the first time I was able to get back and spend a longer period of time there. I made about 1000 drawings over three months, then spent the winter back in Brooklyn editing and combining them into "SPREE". The Spree river is one of two rivers that run through Berlin.
Below is the silkscreen table in my studio and one of the first print editions for the exhibit.
